Labeing Your Fiber For Processing

Labeling your fiber for processing is one of the most important things you can do to ensure that your fiber gets processed just the way you want it.  Below are some tips that will help

  • Batch like fibers/colors to be processed together with the same label
  • Write up detailed instructions for your fiber OR use our fiber processing information sheet
  • Please always include the type of fiber.  Examples: Romney or Pygora Goat

Everybody Wants Clean Fiber

In order to get your fiber as clean as possible please skirt and remove heavily soiled fleeces.  We have a commercial fiber washer that is excellent at removing the lanolin and getting fleeces clean.  Fleeces that have “Dirt Icicles” hanging on them must have them removed.  Our machine just can’t get them clean since the washer is an non-agitation machine.
